How to Profit on Facebook
Facebook is a great place to find prospects for your business. It’s free, it’s easy, and it can deliver great results if you know how to use it. But it can also be a huge waste of time.
“I don’t have time to figure this stuff out!”
Of course you don’t. None of us, as business owners, have time to waste on this. That’s why I’ve broken down every internet strategy on this site into steps you can accomplish in under 10 minutes a day. Here’s how to increase your website traffic through Facebook.
What I hope you got from this:
Starting a group has fallen out of vogue with all the hype about business pages business pages, but they still have their place. As far as collecting friends who are your potential customers, Facebook is discouraging this but it is still a very good practice for two reasons: it allows you to communicate with them both on a personal level and all at once as a mass audience.
Which way you communicate with them will depend on your particular business.
Method one: the funnel
If your business depends on you creating a 1-on-1 relationship with people, such that you don’t need very many people to make a good income but you typically need to spend more time with each person you sell to, then what you want to do is create a funnel that you can send each person down. You need to understand the steps that your prospect needs to take to go from being a stranger to being a client, and make it easy for them to take each step.
Funnel example
For me personally, I know that if a Facebook friend is a business owner and they have a website they’re trying to promote then if I can get them on the phone with me and I give them some free coaching, they’ll likely like talking to me a lot and will want to try a trial membership to my site. So I just need to find a good reason to get them on the phone with me.
Method two: mass communication
If your business depends on you reaching a lot of customers, and having a personal relationship with each of them is not as important, then there are several ways to talk with all your friends as a group and thus quickly find the people who are in the market for what you are offering.
Mass communication example
An effective way for me to find new members for my membership site is to host a webinar. I can set up an event in Facebook and invite all my friends to attend at once. The more friends I have who are members of my target market, the more people will attend and the better chance I have of some of them joining my site.
The next step
That was a quick overview of Facebook marketing. There are many effective ways to use social media sites like Facebook to your advantage.
In upcoming tutorials I’m going to cover the specifics of how to connect with your target market, what to say as you make contact with them, and how to avoid all the disastrous mistakes that people commonly make when it comes to social marketing.
See you in the next tutorial!
