One more quick tip: Your copyright date
If your site says “copyright 2008″ on it, people wonder if you’re still in business.
Here’s a little tip if you’re tired of manually updating the “copyright 20XX” at the bottom of your site at the beginning of each new year: just swap “20XX” with the following code:
var mydate=new Date()
var year=mydate.getYear()
if (year < 1000)
year+=1900
document.write(""+year+"")
</script>
This will display the current year wherever you paste this code. This means that when the new year hits, your copyright info will be automatically updated to the new year. It’s one less thing you have to remember.
This is nothing fancy, but it’s useful. I send out little tips like this to my email list all the time.
